Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy Anniversary, Sweetie! 4 years have flown by and it feels just like yesterday when we got married at Combe Manor…..
A 3 year old picture, but could pretty much have been from any day in August this year!….
August was a non-starter here, it did just not happen! Rain and wind, rain and wind and some more rain and wind. That what it has been like here in South Wales this August.
Try to find fun things to do with a 1 1/2 year old when it is nothing but rain is hard, how ever, we have managed to keep her going, having fun doing so too…. We have had outings to the city and the bay, outings to the park and the beach, outings to indoor activity centers and we have had friends visiting.
After a wet, wet summer, we are now looking forward to a great fall with lots of color and opportunities for outings into the great outdoors….
Hopefully you have had better weather than we have! And this will be the last time I complain about it too….
Summer (seems to) have (finally) arrived here in Wales. As you can see from the brackets, nothings is taken for granted! The last few days have been stunning. Great to spend time outdoors, either on little outings, or just lingering (as in this case) in the garden.
Kaelyn has started to move around quite a bit now. Getting quite fast as well! Wobbling along on her two feet, finding her way and enjoying the new experience. She has also realized that she can now open all the cupboards and drawers (including the fridge) in the kitchen…. Not to worry, we have hidden the tabasco sauce (and the rest of the not so good stuff) way in the back of the cupboard…. Hopefully she will not find it.
No news yet about holidays…. It is a year ago since our last one (Norway). Will probably take a few days later in August, but that will (I guess) be spent at home relaxing. Hopefully a bigger & better holiday is coming up early in 2009! We will see…..
Picture from earlier today in our garden. Kaelyn found (and used) an old lip balm. After putting on some on her self, followed by some for her mum (and some for the dad), she then followed up by kisses to all…. Happy Summer!
We are settling nicely into our new home here in Wales! The house is starting to be what we want it to be. Some painting, some DIY’ing, some help from friends and colleagues; and it is all taking shape! Kaelyn is also getting more and more helpful every day. She is at an age where it is very easy to have a fantastic time together. Then sometimes you also get to see her “wild side” where she tests the boundaries (and our patience) and throws a little fit… But after all said and done, we still have good fun and enjoy it immensely!
Can’t belive the fact that it is the end of June already! What happened to the first half of 2008??!!.. I remember have a glass of fizz at New Year, then we celebrated Kaelyn’s first birthdate, then we packed and moved and now it is 24/06… Strange! Weather doesn’t help either! Too much rain, doesn’t feel like summer at all…. Still have to cut the grass though….
The village is great, and people seem to be quite friendly around here. Not that we have met that many of the “natives” yet…. Language is not a problem, and after a couple of beers, I am just about fluent in Welsh too…
Ddiolch ‘ch , dduw bendithia a da nos!
I have lost count how many times we have gone up and down the M4 this last few months… This picture is from one of those journeys where we have made a stop at the services to give Kaelyn a bit of a break from sitting in the car seat.
All that is coming to an end soon with the move. We just have to start organizing ourselves for the move now. Start packing etc. It seems like I will go up there ahead of Jane and Kaelyn. Only for 2-3 weeks though, and hopefully Jane and Kaelyn can visit once a week and I can come home now and then too…. So a few more miles on the M4 is still ahead of us!
But almost done….
We are doodling along, and we have not added the photo page to our website. The photo page is taking the photos from our Flickr page. Still more to do though. This post is mainly just to see how the tags are coming up in the sidebar.
Lets start all over again… First of all, sorry about the site being down for the last 3 or 4 months! It is quite hectic around here and in between the little one, work and everything else, well…. There hasn’t been enough time, but I am sure you know how that feels!
Moving date is getting closer and closer! Haven’t started packing yet, but we have at least secured all the boxes and stuff we need to get started. Soon we will just have to start packing. We don’t have a firm leaving date yet from work, but sometime over the next couple of weeks I should be out of there.
Over the next few days we should be able to do some adjustments to the site, make it more “ours”. But for now, great to be back up and running!
